LIAA's incubation support is helping the Latvian startup “Ajelix” invest in data security and enter new export markets

The Latvian technology company “Ajelix,” which develops artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for businesses, has made a significant investment in high-performance server infrastructure in Latvia. This step enables the company to deploy and customize large open-source language models in a controlled environment, ensuring that user data remains within the European Union and meets the highest data security standards.
Founded in 2022, Ajelix has already attracted more than 350,000 registered users from 150 countries around the world. The AI chatbot developed by “Ajelix” acts as an agent for performing business tasks—it helps automate reports, presentations, applications, and other business processes.
The investment in infrastructure was made possible with support from the European Union, the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), and the Jelgava City Council. Currently, the company is participating in the business incubation program at the LIAA’s Jelgava office and is actively utilizing the export opportunities provided by the LIAA.
The “Ajelix” team emphasizes that this support gives them the confidence to take significant steps toward growth: “The incubation program gives us the opportunity to make additional investments in both marketing and technology development. Additionally, the program helps ensure artificial intelligence and data sovereignty, as well as attract the resources needed to create innovative products more quickly.”
To further its technological and marketing development, the company actively uses LIAA’s export promotion tools to expand its operations internationally. A prime example of this is the recent trade mission to Germany organized by the LIAA, from which the company returned with significant and valuable contacts for its future expansion.
“LIAA’s export missions help us reach export markets and connect with potential partners who are already interested—partners we wouldn’t be able to reach as quickly or effectively on our own,” says the “Ajelix” team.
Thanks to its own infrastructure and the support provided by LIAA, “Ajelix” continues to develop secure AI solutions tailored to the needs of European companies.
