Although public opinion in Latvia is divided on the development of wind energy, there is a prevailing view that the country should not fall behind the other Baltic states and should actively harness its offshore wind energy potential.

Austrian PropTech startup pinyya has chosen Latvia as the base for its regulated investment business and future European expansion. Founded in 2022, the company has developed an innovative co-investment model that helps people become homeowners without waiting years to save for a traditional down payment.

The company invests in both production efficiency and export capacity, and recently, with support from the digitalisation programme of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia it has implemented a digitally controlled powder coating system, which has significantly improved the quality and efficiency of the production process.

JK Timber is a new company in Latgale specialising in the design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of a specific construction product: roof trusses. The company has been operating in the market for three years and is currently the only manufacturer of this kind in Latgale.
