Phytopresso on the business incubation programme: it is the place to get a grasp on how new entrepreneurs think

Phytopresso is a Latvian-based company that develops modern health drinks and nutritional supplements based on plant ingredients and Nordic folk medicine. The company’s main distinguishing feature is its liquid, measured dietary supplements in small bottles, which ensure higher bioavailability of the active ingredients and faster action.
Cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and participation in the LIAA Business Incubation Programme in Jelgava have played a significant role in the company’s development. As Thomas Auer, founder of Phytopresso, notes: the incubator’s support has served as a valuable environment for gaining practical knowledge. In his opinion, the exchange of experience with young entrepreneurs and the opportunity to look at his business from a different perspective were particularly important.
“What I really appreciated about the incubation programme was not only the support tools, but the environment itself—it was very interesting for me to see how new entrepreneurs think. They have a completely different approach and way of thinking, and there is a lot to learn from that,” Mr Auer says.
Currently, after its initial launch on the market and export experience, the company is undergoing a restructuring process—its business model and product positioning are being reviewed, and new manufacturing partners abroad are being actively sought to return to the market soon.
The company anticipates that, as it continues to work on developing new products, incubation programme support tools could also provide significant assistance, especially in the development of new products and prototypes.
