AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB Open Call for Funding Officially Closed with 94 Finalized Applications

We are pleased to announce that the submission period for the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB Open Call for Funding—funded under the EU Horizon Europe programme—has officially closed. A total of 94 finalized applications were received from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, demonstrating high demand and strong competition for the available support.

The geographic distribution highlights meaningful participation across all three target countries, led by Ukraine with 38 applications, followed closely by Latvia with 30 applications and Poland with 26 applications.

The submitted projects span all seven defined challenge areas in bio-circular agriculture. The highest number of applications focused on agricultural practices integrating bio-circular principles (24 applications) and low-emission manure and residue valorisation (20 applications). Strong interest was also shown in data-driven integrated pest management (IPM) and input reduction (15 applications), as well as circular nutrients and fertiliser independence (12 applications). Additionally, 9 applications were submitted in both water-smart farming and bio-based farm inputs, while 5 applications addressed soil health and peat-free growing media.

Next Steps

All 94 applications are now moving into the eligibility screening phase, which will be followed by independent expert evaluations.

Results are expected to be communicated to applicants by 15 October 2026. Ultimately, the 12 most promising ideas will be selected to receive €50,000 lump-sum grant awards along with a 12-month comprehensive mentoring and acceleration support program.
