Latvian coffee outshines global giants – “Tiny Giant” wins the prestigious “Red Dot Best of the Best” design award!
The Latvian specialty coffee brand “Tiny Giant,” together with the design agency “DPJN,” has achieved what only the very best manage to do – winning the highest international design recognition, the “Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best.”
This is not just a “Winner” title, but the top category awarded only to a select few worldwide. Out of thousands of submissions this year, only four packaging designs received this status, and “Tiny Giant” is the only “Best of the Best” packaging design from Europe.
This is an outstanding achievement for Latvia, proving that even a small, creative brand from Latvia can stand out among the biggest names in global design.
“Packaging design is the first thing that speaks to customers, so its concept is just as important as the product quality. When creating the visual identity of ‘Tiny Giant,’ our goal was to develop something unseen in the coffee world - a solution that not only captures attention but also tells the story of the brand. We wanted to challenge the perception of what coffee packaging can look like, keeping the design clean and minimalist while ensuring it remains memorable and stands out from the rest,” says the company’s co-owner Edgars Dzirkalis.
The “Red Dot” design award is often called the “Oscar” of the design world, and receiving it is like earning a “Michelin star” in the creative industry, adds DPJN Creative Director Kārlis Krieķis.
The DPJN design team drew inspiration from the personality and iconic works of Salvador Dalí. This influence playfully mirrors the brand name “Tiny Giant” - tiny yet enormous - creating an unforgettable visual identity.
The “Tiny Giant” design will be included in the official “Red Dot Design Yearbook” and exhibited in the Red Dot design museums in Essen (Germany) and Singapore, placing Latvian coffee alongside world-renowned brands such as Apple, BMW, and Coca-Cola.
In addition to its international success, “Tiny Giant” also received the public choice award “Gada preču zīme Latvijai” earlier this year, proving that the local audience, too, takes pride in a Latvian-created brand that stands out with its story, quality, and character.

SIA “Tiny Giant” is a Latvian specialty coffee roastery founded in 2023. The company specializes in high-quality coffee production and currently offers six different specialty coffee varieties available both online and in retail locations across Latvia.
