With more than 75 entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, innovation support organisations, and ecosystem stakeholders taking part, Latvia last week successfully concluded its participation in one of the world’s leading deep tech events – Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2026 in Amsterdam.

For the first time, Latvia was represented at the summit by a unified national delegation, organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) in partnership with the Biomedicine and Photonics Research Platform BioPhoT and the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency (RITA). Over the course of the three-day programme, Latvian participants showcased the country’s innovation potential to an international audience of more than 3,000 founders, investors, corporations, and scientists from around the world. The delegation was the largest Latvian presence at Hello Tomorrow to date.

Ieva Jāgere, Director of LIAA:

“Latvia’s participation in Hello Tomorrow for the third consecutive year demonstrates that our deep tech ecosystem is not only capable of making its mark internationally, but also of strengthening its position among the world’s leading innovation hubs. This year, we are particularly pleased to see Latvia represented by its largest-ever delegation and to witness Latvian companies continuing to gain international recognition across a wide range of fields – from energy and space technologies to biomedicine and defence solutions. This is clear evidence that the development of Latvia’s innovation ecosystem is both purposeful and sustainable.”

Over the two summit days, Latvia’s national stand featured 10 deep tech companies and 10 commercialisation projects from BioPhoT. In parallel, RITA led the participation of 10 investment-ready startups at the Investor Day programme held ahead of the summit. Dozens of researchers, university representatives, and other ecosystem stakeholders from Latvia also took part. Latvian participants engaged in investor meetings, presentations, panel discussions, and a range of international networking events, highlighting the country’s strengths in defence technologies, biomedicine, photonics, space technologies, energy, and advanced materials.

Particular international recognition was earned by Naco Technologies, which was selected among the Hello Tomorrow Top 100 Deep Tech Startups. Presenting on the summit’s main stage, the company received the highest jury score in the energy category. This achievement follows another recent success at Deep Tech Atelier 2026, Northern Europe’s leading deep tech conference, where Naco Technologies won the Cross-Sector category of the international startup pitch competition and received the LIAA Special Award.

Several other Latvian companies and projects also attracted international attention at the summit, including AiSAT, OLEC Technology, and SwyTest In total, eight Latvian companies were awarded the prestigious Deep Tech Pioneers status. This brings the total number of Latvian companies recognised as Deep Tech Pioneers to more than 30 over the past few years, highlighting the growing international competitiveness of Latvia’s deep tech ecosystem.

On the first day of the summit, Latvia also hosted a joint Baltic-Ukraine deep tech ecosystem event, highlighting the region’s rapid growth and collaboration potential within the global innovation landscape. The event attracted more than 120 investors, companies, and ecosystem representatives. Eight Latvian companies presented their solutions, while the Latvian startup ecosystem was represented by Roberts Alhimionoks, Head of the Latvian Startup Association Startin.LV. Latvia’s strengths in defence technologies were showcased by Andris Baumanis, Head of UniLab Defence and NATO DIANA Latvia.

Latvia has now participated in Hello Tomorrow Global Summit for three consecutive years. Last year’s event took place in Paris. In 2025, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hello Tomorrow, establishing a framework for deeper year-round cooperation. As part of this partnership, Hello Tomorrow has also become a strategic partner of Deep Tech Atelier, the leading deep tech conference in the Baltics, held annually in Riga.
