Last weekend, as part of the international tourism exhibition Balttour 2026, a visit by foreign tour operators to Latvia and an incoming tourism contact exchange took place, attended by 28 tourism professionals from 13 European Economic Area countries with the aim of getting to know Latvia's tourism offerings and establishing new cooperation contacts.

The visit lasted three days, during which the foreign guests got to know Latvia's cultural heritage, visited the historic center of Riga, viewed Art Nouveau architecture, visited event and conference venues, and went on a trip to Zemgale, visiting Bauska, and the Rundāle Palace Museum. The visit ended in Jūrmala, where they visited SPA hotels and learned about the resort's offerings.

The visit provided a comprehensive overview of Latvia's tourism offerings, allowing international industry professionals to experience the destination, its quality and hospitality firsthand, thereby strengthening opportunities for future cooperation.

During the visit, experienced Polish journalist Cezary Rudziński also visited Latvia and, after returning to his homeland, published an extensive articles about his winter experience in Latvia on the tourism portals:

In his publication, the author emphasizes that, although he had previously visited Latvia in spring and summer, he got to know it for the first time in winter, discovering a new perspective on the country's cultural and tourism offerings. He highlights the historical ties between Latvia and Poland, as well as praising Riga's architecture and cultural heritage, the impressive Baroque interiors of Rundāle Palace, and the offerings of the Jūrmala resort, even in the winter season, with a special emphasis on the spa center and health tourism opportunities.

The article also emphasizes the importance of the international exhibition Balttour 2026 as a leading meeting platform for tourism professionals in the Baltic States, praising the organized contact exchange with pre-planned individual meetings between foreign and Latvian industry representatives.

The author points out that Latvia is still an underrated destination in Poland, while expressing his intention to publish more extensive, illustrated reports on his experiences.
