Start-ups will present their ideas to investors in a competition for a prize of €200,000

Over several months, aspiring entrepreneurs have developed their technology solutions as part of the IT and start-up programme “StartSchool”, working on their business model, product development and customer needs analysis. On 12 June, Startup House Riga will host Demo Day, when the teams will present their ideas to investors, mentors, and representatives from the technology sector. The focus of this year's event is securing investment: participants will compete for investment opportunities totalling 200,000 euros.
On Demo Day, teams will present the solutions they have developed during the programme. These presentations must justify the problem to be solved, the needs of potential clients, and the plans for future development. The event will be attended by programme participants, investors, mentors, and start-up community representatives.
“Our mission is to develop tomorrow's technology leaders and start-up founders. We want to see more ambitious technology companies with global potential being established in Latvia. If we help people create products, teams and companies today, then in ten years' time Latvia will boast not just a few world-class unicorn companies, but ten. Demo Day marks the beginning of this journey,” says StartSchool co-founder and director Anna Andersone.
The program helps participants develop ideas, assess the need for solutions, and work in teams, but it will be on Demo Day that we’ll see which teams have managed to prepare their concepts for evaluation by investors. Team presentations will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. Participants will present their solutions and development plans. From 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM, there will be an awards ceremony for the best presentations and announcements regarding next steps. Networking is planned following the awards ceremony.
This event provides an opportunity to evaluate the solutions developed during the program and the teams’ readiness to continue their work after the program concludes. Participants will receive feedback from investors, mentors, and industry representatives, which can help clarify the direction of future development.
To promote the growth of the technology sector in Latvia, the program is supported by the Berdiganu Fund “With Love for Latvia,” “Nutrameg,” “Swisscom DevOps Center in Riga,” “EazyBI,” “Balcia Insurance,” “Scandiweb,” “ITissible,” “Fonds Augt,” “Gravity Team,” the Riga Investment and Tourism Agency’s startup ecosystem development program, “GoCardless,” “DelfinGroup,” “SEB Bank,” and others.
